I am currently attending William and Mary, studying physics and theater, and I am a TJ alum. At William and Mary, IK'm a member of both the Society of Physics Students and the Theater Student Association.
What have your teaching opportunities been outside of Fairfax Collegiate?I've been an instructor in my now former Scout troop for four years, giving me a substantial amount of hands-on teaching experience. Throughout middle and high school, I volunteered at my elementary school, often leading demonstrations or lessons in all sorts of areas. I've worked at Outside the Box Theatre for three years, teaching technical theater and assisting with direction.
What sort of experience have you had in the subject you’ll be teaching this summer?I've taken a substantial amount of college-level writing, math, and science courses, included but not limited to: AP English Literature, AP BC Calculus, Multivariable Calculus, Linear Algebra, AP Physics C Mechanics and EM, AP Chemistry, AP Statistics, and Advanced Astronomy. I've done research into meteorite analysis on a H1-H2 chondrite and presented that work at an international scientific conference.
Outside of work, what are some hobbies you enjoy?I am the foil captain of the College of William and Mary Fencing Team, and I have been fencing since I was 7. I'm also an active participant in on-campus theatre, having worked on eight productions over the past two semesters. Throughout high school, I was similarly involved in theatre, working as a member of Thomas Jefferson Theatre Arts. My lighting design team was nominated for two Cappie Awards, and won one, for our production of Pippin.
When I have free time, I enjoy playing Dungeons and Dragons and various Pokémon games.
