I’m currently a student at Virginia Tech, majoring in FinTech and Big Data Analytics with a minor in Statistics. At Virginia Tech, I’m involved in several activities that strengthen my interest in business and technology: I’m an active member of the FinTech Club and serve on the Dean’s Advisory Board of Students (DABS), where I help represent my fellow business students. I’m also a member of Kappa Delta sorority, where I participate in philanthropic efforts and community service. Outside of campus, I’ve published two letters in The Washington Post advocating for issues I’m passionate about.
What have your teaching opportunities been outside of Fairfax Collegiate?I’ve privately tutored students in Math and English for the past three years, ranging all grades and adapting to different learning styles. I also worked as an instructor at Mathnasium, where I helped students master the fundamentals of math through structured, individualized lessons.
What sort of experience have you had in the subject you’ll be teaching this summer?I've taken several advanced courses in the subject areas I’ll be teaching, including AP Calculus AB and BC, AP English Literature, and participated in a senior research lab during my time at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology. These experiences gave me a strong academic foundation in Math, English, and Science, and helped me develop a deeper understanding of those subjects.
