Where do you attend school and what activities are you involved in?

I'm a student at the University of Southern California, double majoring in International Relations: Global Economics and French. As a student, I'm a member of Model UN, the Debate Club, the French Club, and the Film Club. In high school, I was a member of marching band and three honor societies: National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, and Tri-M Music Honor Society.

What have your teaching opportunities been outside of Fairfax Collegiate?

In high school, I worked for Mathnasium, where I tutored kids from kindergarten through high school in a variety of different subjects. I also volunteered through the National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society, helping fellow students understand concepts in language or math that posed difficulty.

What sort of experience have you had in the subject you’ll be teaching this summer?

I have frequently submitted my short films to festivals around the country and in the state, winning a few awards and using my films to convey messages I felt were important. Additionally, I have attended a few film camps and have learned in depth about the structure and composition that goes into making movies, whether it be live-action or claymation. In the next few years, I plan on taking some courses at the USC School of Cinematic Arts in screenwriting or editing, aspiring to improve my filmmaking passion.

What excites you about teaching and working with students?

I love being able to see the joy on student's faces as they understand a difficult concept or overcome a challenge that was giving them a hard time. Being a part of that learning process offers me a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment as I am able to see the growth of a student's talent.

Outside of work, what are some hobbies you enjoy?

Currently, I am writing and producing a short film with my sister. Another passion project for this summer is learning Italian through online videos and books. Of course, I always love going outside, hiking, travelling, and playing games with my family.
