I am currently an undergraduate student at Purdue University majoring in Mechanical Engineering. This year, I was the Aero Design sub team Lead for Purdue’s Formula SAE (FSAE) team, where I led the design and development of aerodynamic components. In high school, I was the Mechanical and Design Lead for our FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) team.
What have your teaching opportunities been outside of Fairfax Collegiate?I volunteered my time as a teaching assistant for the engineering department at James Madison High School.
What subjects have you taught with Fairfax Collegiate in the past?I started working with Fairfax Collegiate in 2022 as a lead assistant instructor, assisting and teaching robotics classes.
What sort of experience have you had in the subject you’ll be teaching this summer? As a rising junior in Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University, I’ve built a strong foundation in physics through courses like dynamics, thermodynamics, and statics, along with hands-on experience in aerodynamics through engineering projects. I’ve spent time exploring Microsoft Flight Simulator and understand the key flight principles it’s built on, which helps me connect technical concepts to real-time simulation. I also have a personal connection to the VR class, having taken it myself in the past, which gives me insight into how to make the experience both accessible and engaging for students.
What excites you about teaching and working with students?I’m excited to share my passion for engineering and physics with students in the Flight Simulator class through technical discussions and real-world concepts. For the VR class, I look forward to exploring virtual reality alongside students and showcasing its incredible potential—not just in gaming and entertainment, but also in education, design, simulation, and immersive storytelling.
Outside of work, what are some hobbies you enjoy?Outside of work and school, I’m a big supporter of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club. I also enjoy playing guitar and am currently teaching myself how to play the drums.
